  • Fairfax County Board of Supervisors honors MCAs’ 100 years of community service

The McLean Citizens Association (MCA) has served since 1914 as an unofficial town council for the residents of the McLean area which has no governmental structure of its own. MCA has provided a forum in which all McLean residents can discuss ways to resolve community problems and countywide issues affecting the area.

President's message:

Surrounded by explosive urban growth, McLean must stay ahead of development. Protecting our home values and quality of life requires ordinary citizens to lead government and business decisions – not the other way around.

Now in our 103rd year of service to McLean, the MCA has built a network of expert volunteers with extraordinary credibility. Simply put, “when the MCA talks, elected officials and government staff listen.” We ensure families in the McLean area know about new government and development changes before they even start. We also create and lead new initiatives dedicated solely to the betterment of our wonderful community.

Just as previous MCA leaders advanced public schools, organized the first McLean Day, built the McLean Community Center and founded the McLean Community Foundation, today’s MCA volunteers are shaping the McLean of today and tomorrow.

Thank you for supporting the finest volunteer association in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
